​​My journey with woodworking began early in life, by helping to build our family home. I remember arranging lengths of tongue and groove Red Oak flooring, for use throughout our home. That was the beginning of my lifelong relationship with wood. Many people have similar fond memories related to the use of wood. Whether it is a cherished cutting board made by their brother or the inheritance of a grandmothers rolling pin, they often recall memories of the sentimentality, durability and beauty of the wood. I’ve had countless conversations with people about the content, color, grain, patterns, use and construction of wood art. This shared knowledge and personal connection, of wood as a medium, encourages my continuing journey in the exploration of wood art.
